Disassembly 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Remove two machine screws (1) and identification plate (2). Remove air valve cap (3), valve core (4), purging valve stem (5), and retaining strap (6) from M42 periscope. Remove purging machine screw (7). Remove two headless straight pins (8) only if nec- essary for replacement. Remove four machine screws (9), four Iockwashers (10), and two retaining plates (11). Discard Iockwashers. Remove 12 machine screws (12), 12 Iockwashers (13), and plate and mirror (14). Discard lock- washers. Remove two headless straight pins (15) only if damaged.
