TM 9-1240-400-34&P ITEM ITEM T0 NO. BE INSPECTED PROCEDURE 16 Reset Counter (1) Rotate knob while observing reset counter. Reset counter must be resettable to 3200 mils from any counter position. (2) Rotate deflection knob while observing counter. Counter indication must increase when deflection knob is rotated clockwise, and decrease when rotated counterclockwise. 17 Counter Setting Set -50 mils (right) into gunner’s aid counter and observe that reset counter increases by 50 mils Set +50 mils (left) into gunner’s aid counter and observe that reset counter decreases by 50 mils Deflection counter must not change during either of preceding actions. 18 Counter Numerals Rotate direct-indirect knob, elevation knob, reset counter knob, and gunner’s aid knob in turn to lowest digit. Be sure lowest digit of each counter is in coincidence with its respective index line and remaining numbers are in alinement within 1/16 in. (1.6 mm). 19 Rotating Head Assembly Rotate deflection knob while observing motion of rotating head. Rotating head must move in continu- ous motion without binding or jumping. 20 Elbow Assembly Must rotate left and right through its intended dis- tance, and hold in established position. 2-5
