TM 9-2920-225-34 1. Check that nuts (1), washers (2), and screw (3) are not worn, stripped, bent or broken and that they have no damaged threads. If parts are damaged, get new ones. 2. Check that brush holder (4) is not cracked or broken. If brush holder is damaged, get a new one. 3. Check that brushes (5) are not oil soaked, that they have no loose leads, and that they are not less than 1/4 inch long. If brushes are worn or damaged, get new ones.
