Installation INITIAL SETUP: Tools General mechanic’s tool kit: automotive (Appendix B, Item 1) Manual References TM 9-2320-387-10 TM 9-2320-387-24P Equipment Condition Hood raised and secured (TM 9-2320-387-10). Maintenance Level Direct support 1. Loosen two nuts (7) and disconnect cable assembly (1) from bracket (5). 2. Disconnect throttle return spring (2) from bracket (5). 3. Remove stop collar (6) and disconnect cable assembly (1) from fuel injection pump (4). 4. Remove nut (8) and washer (9) from fuel injection pump (4) and stud (11). 5. Remove two capscrews (10) and bracket (5) from fuel injection pump (4). b. Inspection Inspect throttle return spring (2). Replace if defective. -1 1. Install bracket (51 on fuel injection pump (4) and stud (11) with washer (9) and nut (8). 2. Install bracket (5) on fuel injection pump (4) with two capscrews (10). Tighten capscrews (10) to 13 lb-ft (18 N-m). 3. Position throttle shaft lever (3) to full-throttle position and secure cable assembly (1) to throttle shaft lever (3) with stop collar (6). 4. Connect throttle return spring (2) to bracket (5). 5. Install cable assembly (1) on bracket (5) and tighten two nuts (7). 16-20
