General Safety Instructions Hood must be supported during removal and installation. Maintenance Level Unit 1 a. Removal 1 1. Disconnect hood harness connector (1) from connector (2). NOTE Perform steps 2 through 6 and step 9 for Ml114 models only. Perform steps 2 through 9 for Ml113 models only. 2. 3. Remove four capscrews (231, washers (241, and washers (25) from plate (27) and left splash shield (12). Remove hex-head screws (28) and (301, washer (291, plates (27), and two spring nuts (26) from headlight housing (3 1). 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Remove four nuts (361, screws (351, and connector (2) from plate (27). Remove nut and lo&washer assembly (321, screw (341, and harness and clamp (33) from left splash shield (12). Discard nut and lockwasher assembly (32). Remove locknut (3), washer (41, capscrew (201, washer (211, and left splash shield (12) from support bracket (22). Discard locknut (3). Remove locknut (6), washer (7), washer (81, capscrew (161, and washer (15) from left splash shield (12) and airlift bracket (5). Discard locknut (6). Remove capscrew (l7), washer (181, washer (19), and left splash shield (12) from airlift bracket (51. Remove locknut (9), washer (101, capscrew (141, and washer (13) from master cylinder bracket (11) and splash shield (12). Discard locknut (9) and remove splash shield (12) from vehicle. WARNING Hood must be supported during removal and installation. Failure to support hood may cause injury to personnel or damage to equipment. 1 O-38
