Equipment Condition General Safety Instructions l Oil dipstick tube removed (para. 3-2) (left side only). l 200-ampere alternator removed !para. 4-5) (left side only). Do not touch hot exhaust system components with bare hands. hlaintenance Level Unit WARNING Do not touch hot exhaust system components with bare hands. Severe injury may result. NOTE The replacement procedure for right and left exhaust manifolds is basically the same. This procedure covers the right exhaust manifold. a. Removal 1. Loosen and slide clamp (4) onto exhaust pipe (5). 2. Remove four (eight if left side) capscrews (1) and exhaust manifold (2) from cylinder head (3). -1 1. Install exhaust manifold (2) on cylinder head (3) with four (eight if left side) capscrews (1). Tighten capscrews (1) to 25-33 lb-ft (34-45 N.m). 2. Install e.xhaust pipe (5) on exhaust manifold (2) and tighten clamp (4). 3-104
