Remove all jewelry such as rings, dog tags, bracelets, etc. If jewelry or disconnected battery ground cable contacts battery terminal, a direct short will result, causing injury to personnel, or damage to equipment. NOTE Refer to TM 9-6140-200-14 for more specific details on battery maintenance.
