This task covers: Replace INITIAL SETUP Tools Materials/Parts General Mechanic’s Automotive Tool Kit Sealer (Item 28, Appendix D) Rubber (Item 34, Appendix D) Replace (Figure 3-29) (1) (2) (3) (4) Remove and retain ten phillips head screws (1) and lock washers (2) attaching retainer (3) and shield (4) to spacer (5) and remove retainer (3) and shield (4). Cut a new shield (4), using old shield as a template. Using retainer (3) as a template, punch ten mounting holes in upper edge of shield (4). NOTE Dip mounting screws (1) in sealer prior to installation. Position shield (4) and retainer (3) on spacer (5) so that mounting holes line up.
