Install Compressor (Cont’d) (22) Tighten all compressor mounting bolts. Torque to 35 ft-lbs. Do not overtighten. Figure 2-227. Compressor Adjustment 30 28 30 29 29 (23) Check clearance between compressor belt and lower radiator hose. If clearance is less than 3/8 inch, remove bolts (28), and lockwashers (29) attaching lower radiator pipe to vehicle frame. Install two or four spacers (30) between radiator pipe bracket and frame bracket to shift pipe rearward away from belt. Reinstall bolts attaching lower radiator pipe to vehicle frame. (24) Reinstall alternator belts and adjust belt tension. (25) Reinstall air intake duct after connecting refrigerant hoses to compressor.
