A working group is a grouping of predetermined staff representatives who meet to provide analysis, coordinate, and provide recommendations for a particular purpose or function (FM 6-0). Working groups address various subjects depending on the situation and echelon. Battalion and brigade headquarters have fewer working groups than higher echelons do. Working groups may convene daily, weekly, monthly, or intermittently depending on the subject, situation, and echelon. Typical working groups at division and corps headquarters scheduled within the unit's battle rhythm include— Assessment working group. Civil affairs operations working group. Cyberspace electromagnetic activities working group. Foreign disclosure working group. Information collection working group. Information operations working group. Knowledge management working group. Protection working group. Sustainment working group. Targeting working group. Note. Joint doctrine uses different terms.
