TM 9-2320-366-34-3 16-63. 30K WINCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT) WARNING • 30K winch assembly weighs approximately 1450 lbs (658 kgs). Use suitable lifting device prior to installation. Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel or damage to equipment. • A guide rope must be attached to 30K winch frame to aid in controlling 30K winch assembly during installation. Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel or damage to equipment. NOTE Step (4) requires the aid of two assistants. (4) Position 30K winch assembly (2) on vehicle. WARNING Adhesive Sealant MIL-S-46163 can damage your eyes. Wear safety goggles when using; avoid contact with eyes. If sealant contacts eyes, flush eyes with water and get immediate medical attention. Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel. (5) Apply sealing compound to threads of six screws (8). NOTE Left and right side of 30K winch assembly are installed the same way. Left side shown (6) Position 12 washers (9), six screws (8), and self-locking nuts (10) in 30K winch assembly (2). (7) Tighten six self-locking nuts (10) to 152-168 lb-ft (206- 227 N·m). (8) Perform steps (6) and (7) on right side of 30K winch assembly (2). 16-370
