TM 9-2320-366-34-3 16-63. 30K WINCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT) (34) Remove preformed packing (46) from output shaft (45). Discard preformed packing. (35) Install banding strap (47) around drum (23) and gear end support (48). (36) Position drum (23) on work bench with gear end cover (6) facing up. (37) Remove banding strap (47) from drum (23) and gear end support (48). (38) Match mark gear end cover (6) to ring gear (49). (39) Match mark ring gear (49) to gear end support (48). CAUTION Gear end cover is under pressure. Loosen screws evenly to relieve pressure. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment. (40) Loosen 12 screws (50) on gear end cover (6). (41) Remove 12 screws (50), lockwashers (51), and gear end cover (6) from ring gear (49). Discard lockwashers. 16-356
