TM 9-2320-366-34-3 16-59. M1089 EIGHT-BANK VALVE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT) NOTE All bottom directional valve bodies are disassembled the same way. One bottom directional valve body shown. (56) Remove two fittings (78) from bottom directional valve body (79). (57) Remove two preformed packings (80) from fittings (78). Discard preformed packings. (58) Remove four screws (81), bottom directional valve body (79), two preformed packings (82), and three preformed packings (83) from valve manifold (25). Discard preformed packings. (59) Remove lever (84) from pinion seal (85). CAUTION Lever cap and carrier nut are a matched set and must be kept together. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment. (60) Remove bolt (86) and washer (87) from lever cap (88). Discard washer. (61) Remove carrier nut (89) from lever cap (88). (62) Remove preformed packing (90) from carrier nut (89). Discard preformed packing. (63) Match mark pinion seal (85) and lever cap (88). (64) Remove pinion seal (85) from lever cap (88). 16-320
