INITIAL SETUP Equipment Conditions Engine shut down (TM 9-2320-366-10-1). Tools and Special Tools Tool Kit, Genl Mech (Item 78, Appendix B) Goggles, Industrial (Item 28, Appendix B) KNOWN INFO Nothing POSSIBLE PROBLEMS Faulty engine oil cooler. Faulty cylinder head and/or gasket. TEST OPTIONS Visual Inspection REASON FOR QUESTION Leaking or damaged engine oil cooler will allow oil to enter cooling system. 1. WARNING Read WARNING on following page. Is engine oil cooler free from leaks and damages? START Replace engine oil cooler (para 3-19). KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS Engine oil cooler OK. Faulty cylinder head and/or head gasket. 2. Is cylinder head gasket and cylinder head free from leaks and damages? YES TEST OPTIONS Visual Inspection REASON FOR QUESTION Engine oil may be in cooling system if cylinder head and/or head gasket is damaged. Replace cylinder head/gasket (para 3-6).
