Tools and Special Tools Tool Kit, Genl Mech (Item 46, Appendix C) Wrench, Torque, 0-600 lb-ft (Item 60, Appendix C) Tools and Special Tools (Cont) Goggles, Industrial (Item 15, Appendix C) Socket Set, Impact (Item 33, Appendix C) Wrench Set, Socket (Item 50, Appendix C) Materials/Parts Nut, Self-Locking (2) (Item 161, Appendix G) WARNING Wear appropriate eye protection when working under vehicle due to the possibility of falling debris. Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel. a. Removal. NOTE • Left and right side rear axle shock absorbers are removed the same way. Right side shown. • Perform step (1) on vehicle serial numbers 0001 through 1398, and 2988 and higher serial numbers. (1) Remove self-locking nut (1), bolt (2), and washer (3) from rear axle shock absorber (4). Discard self-locking nut. 15-6
