Pulley is damaged to the point that it affects belt wear. 29 Semiannual ALTER- NATOR DRIVE BELTS Check alternator drive belts for cracks, frays, and shiny spots. Any drive belt has more than one crack 1/8 in. (0.3 cm) in depth or 50 percent of belt thickness, any fray more than 2 in. (5.1 cm) long, or has excessive play. 2-36
