INITIAL SETUP Equipment Conditions Engine shut down (TM 9-2320-365-10). Tools and Special Tools Tool Kit, Genl Mech (Item 68, Appendix B) Goggles, Industrial (Item 25, Appendix B) KNOWN INFO POSSIBLE PROBLEMS Faulty engine oil cooler. Faulty cylinder head and/or gasket. TEST OPTIONS Visual Inspection REASON FOR QUESTION Leaking or damaged engine oil cooler will allow oil to enter cooling system. START 1. Is engine oil cooler free from leaks and damages? WARNING Read WARNING on following page. Replace engine oil cooler (para 3-19). YES POSSIBLE PROBLEMS Engine oil cooler OK. Faulty cylinder head and/or head gasket. KNOWN INFO 2. Is cylinder head gasket and cylinder head free from leaks and damages? YES TEST OPTIONS Visual Inspection REASON FOR QUESTION Engine oil may be in cooling system if cylinder head and/or head gasket is damaged. Nothing Replace cylinder head/gasket (para 3-6).
