TM 9-2815-220-34 Genetor erational Tests - Continued 2 Inspect generator windings and Insulation. (Accessible through dri\·e end plate,) and check for ee rotation of drive shaft turning shaft by hand. OT 13.7 Gencu1or Duve Gear Assembly Torque Check: (Model·AVDS· I 790·2C only) I. • Func1ion3I Check. Perform Tes1 OT t0.2. 2. 'Tor(!uc check <gcnera1or re· mo1cd}. Check slip torque of drive gc3r ae mbl y with gen· C13l01 couplin tool (8, fi. 2-5) and torque wrench (300 lb. ft. capJC1ty). Block engine to prevent rotation while gradually increasing torque 10 167 lb. . 3. Check torque·rotntional deflc tion ra1c. Using tool a nd torque wrench as in 2 above, apply 167 lb . . torq ue. OT 14. OT 14.1 I. 2 3. Manifold Heater Tests Heater erational Check Hold fuel shutff (engine "stop") switch and crank engine. While cranking engine, engage manifold heater switch and hand operate purge pump. Place hand on intake manifold heater housing. Check both sides of engine. 14.2 Vohage Checks: NOTE Dionnect purge pump fuel ho quick.ion- ncct coupling at engine fore performing tests OT 14.2 through 14.5. I. Check electrical circuit voltages (master switch and heater switch "ON"). 14.3 Ignition Unil eiation WARNING 2·30 High Voltage: (e decal on unit) Waing Voltage High Amperage tput Change 2 Tobit 2·3. Dti c Tt1u - tutd a Damaged winding burned insulation debris, and or al oe for debris in drain tus and fNness of rotation, of generator shaft. n. Note if 11terc is <lippge of the drive car whik incrrasin torque 10 l 67 lb. ft. a. Note denec tion in degree\ from zero torque to 167 lb. ft, torque. a. Note housing temperature (warm or hol to tch). a. 8 volta at heater switch, th nn· lo. b. No •·oltage switch. c. No voltage from switch. d. 8 volat engine bulk.heal conntor. . No voltage to bulkhead connector. f. 8 volʦ al solenoid valvc(s) supply and return wi conntor. g. No voltage at lenoid valves. h. 8 1·olts a t ignition unit nntor. i. No l'OIUge at ignition unit. An1lpia a I. bris and or indicates generator burned out. Rotational bind ind cates failure. a2. If a1•e not evidenced, generator may have electral failure or dri1·e gear sembly failure. (Refer to 13.7) al. If <lipplc occurs below 167 lb. rt., dri1e gear assembly i< defcctiC, a2. If no shppag occurs below 167 lb. ft., slip torque is acceprnble, but cnr assembly m3y have other d•mage (low tor qurate). Pro· ceed t o 3 below. aI. If rota1ion is more than s•, but les s lhon 11 . drive car assembly is sa1isfactory. o2. If rotJtion is greater than 11•. or less than s·. the drive gear assembly is defective. al. Evidence of heat indicates heater operation is normal. a2. No heal Indicates heater is inoperative. a. Pפr volt supply through heaur switch. b. ftive circuiL c. fective switch. d. Proper voltage supply. e. fth·e circuit tween switch and conntor. r. Proper voltage supply to solenoid valves. g. fective circuit tween conntor and valves. h.
