Inspection and Repair (2) Replace camshaft when cracked or when lobes or bearing surfaces are badly w.orn, scuffed or scored. Replace camshaft when it does not check against limits specified in repair standards (table 3-26). Repair damaged threads in gear hub with a used tap. Remove slight scuffing or scoring from camshaft lobes and bearings with a fine oil stone and polish with corcus cloth dipped in d-cleaning solvent or mineral spirits paint thinner. a. Genel.
