Acceleration check. a. Accelerate to full throttle, no load (2600-2660 rpm), with a moderate steady throttle movement. b. Return to low idle (675-725 rpm) with the same type throttle movement. NOTE It is permissible for engine rpm to go below 675 rpm briefly at return to idle providing the governor responds and returns the engine rpm to the low idle setting. 14. Check flame heater system for operation. a. Activate while idling and feel for warm intake elbow. b. Visually look for fuel leaks. 15. Check smoke generating system operation. a. Run engine at 2000 rpm. b. Activate smoke generating system. c. Verify that engine produces white smoke.
