TM 9-2815-220-24 FUEL SYSTEM ABNORMAL CONDITIONS 0020 00 MALFUNCTION 6: (Continued) Fuel injection pump deficiencies. PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION d. Fuel adjustment improper. (1) Check engine power (WP 0044, Engine Run-In) or perform Engine Stall Test (WP 0041). (2) Replace fuel injection pump (WP 0115, Fuel Injection Pump Assembly Replacement). e. Electric fuel shutoff failure (electric circuit defective or solenoid failure). (1) Check solenoid operation as follows : PROCEDURE OBSERVATION ANALYSIS Audible "clicking" indicates normal fuel shut-off operation. Open top grille door. With master switch "ON", intermittently operate fuel shut-off switch "ON" and "OFF" (with manual control in normal engine "ON" position). Note audible solenoid "clicking" indicating opening and closing action. No audible "clicking" indicates solenoid or circuit defective. PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION e. (Continued) Electric fuel shutoff failure (electric circuit defective or solenoid failure). (2) Check circuit voltage (refer to pertinent vehicle technical manual). (3) Replace fuel injection pump. f. Manual fuel shut-off malfunction (improper control linkage adjustment or internal failure). (1) Check manual operation as follows: PROCEDURE OBSERVATION ANALYSIS If no audible "clicking" is noted. Manual control is holding fuel shut-off in "OFF" position and manual operation is satisfactory. With master switch "ON", hold manual control handle in engine "OFF" position and intermittently operate electric fuel shut-off switch "ON" and "OFF". If audible "clicking" is noticed. Manual control out of adjustment, or defective. WP 0020 00-6
