The major difference is the drive gears: on the newer model (12468945) the spur gear to cluster gear ratio provides a higher operating speed of the pump. This higher speed increases oil flow capability. If you have the older pump (11683982), it is acceptable for use, but is not supported in the RPSTL nor in the repair manual. You can identify which pump you have by counting teeth (A) on the smaller gear circle of the cluster gear. The high-speed pump has 26 teeth and the older low- speed pump has 24.
