TM 9-2815-220-24 CRANKCASE/TRANSMISSION ADAPTER ASSEMBLY REPLACE/REPAIR 0131 00 DISASSEMBLY NOTE Early model engines used lock wire on the timing pointer mounting bolts. If lock wire is present cut and discard. 1. Remove timing pointer (10) (2CA, 2DA only). 12 1 8 10 8 a. Remove two cap screws (11) to remove pointer (10). 11 2. Using an arbor press (item 8, WP 0176), remove and discard two dowel pins (8) (2DA and 2CA only). 3. Using an arbor press, remove and discard two resilient mounts (9). 4. Remove lifting eye (1). 9 a. Remove two remaining cap screws (12) to remove lifting eye (1). CLEANING 1. See WP 0028 for Standard Cleaning Procedures. 9 INSPECTION All parts must be inspected with care. Replace parts if damage or wear exceeds allowable limits. 1. See WP 0028 for Standard Inspection Procedures. 2. Inspect dowel pins (8) (2CA, 2DA only). a. Look for looseness; replace if found. b. Look for any signs of damage; replace if found. 3. Inspect resilient mounts (9) for damage. a. Look for signs of separation of the rubber to bushing; replace if found. Look for damaged bushing in resilient mount; replace if found. WP 0131 00-4
