Components that replace mandatory replacement parts and rejected used parts shall be inspected as follows: (1) Inspection of new or locally manufactured parts will be accomplished by the supplier quality assurance activity using Supplementary Quality Assurance Provisions (SQAP’s) annotated on the Master List of SQAP’s. (2) The supplier inspection system shall provide for use of TACOM furnished inspection equipment or designs, when applicable. (3) When SQAP’s are not furnished, purchased or locally manufactured parts shall be inspected in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications. b. Used Components. (1) The NMM shall conduct 100 percent examination of components, subassemblies, and assemblies of each end item in accordance with OIPs and other inspection instructions of this NMWR. When a noncorrectable defect is noted, no further inspection need to be performed on the defective part. In case of assemblies, the defective item shall be removed and inspection continued on the remaining subassemblies or components. (2) An OIP has been prepared for each part or component with specified wear limits, specified performance requirements, or fatigue characteristics which may cause part failure. Every part for which an OIP has been written will be subjected to the serviceability inspection standard (item 1 on every OIP). (a) Requirement to perform measurements listed on OIPs will be performed in all instances. (b) Every effort has been made to limit liquid penetrant or magnetic particle inspection requirements only to those parts or components to which such inspection is critical. Therefore, liquid penetrant and magnetic particle inspection will be performed in all instances required by OIP. c. Repaired Components. Parts repaired shall be inspected in accordance with the following: (1) Method of salvage rework shall be inspected to ensure that it is in accordance with specifications and this NMWR. (2) Repaired components will be inspected to OIPs and/or drawings, as applicable. 0048 00-5 Change 1
