Use the procedures outlined below to reclaim a worn accessory drive housing (part number 11642121-1) Refer to OIP 11642121-1 (Table 3). a. Repair worn mating surfaces of the mechanical drive housing and rear fan housing by installing shims. (1) Remove studs and mill worn areas to a depth of 0.0500 in. (1.2700 mm) (2) Reinstall 0.0600 inch (1.5240 mm) thick aluminum shims cut to the shape of the milled areas. (3) To retain shims, drill holes 0.1590 inch (4.0386 mm) diameter and 0.1000 in. (2.5400 mm) deep through shims. (4) Tap drilled holes 10-32 NF2 0.0940 in. (2.3876 mm) deep. (5) To position and retain the shims, use 3/16 in. (4.5720 mm) diameter aluminum bar stock, cut to the required lengths and threaded 10-32 NF2. Screw threaded aluminum stock in tapped holes. (6) Install 3/8 in. (9.3980 mm) diameter oversize studs. When fastening bearing supports with 3/8 in. (9.3980 mm) nuts, use lubriplate and torque to 275-325 pound-inches (31 – 37 N•m). b. Repair a worn injection advance bore of the mechanical drive housing by installing an insert type bearing. Refer to Figure 1. (1) With cap in place, machine the injection advance bore to 2.5100 in. (63.7540 mm) I.D. (2) With cap removed, machine slots in bearing areas as shown in Figure 2.
